Caissa 1 clearly outperformed the 2nd team of Amsterdam West last Tuesday at home base. Take a look at the engine-like performance of Felix below, playing the best moves multiple times in a row, and sacrificing his queen for a couple of pieces without a doubt in his mind. I showed positional dominance on board 4 with the white pieces.
It was quite the long day for me, having introduced a new member to the club earlier that evening, and having participated in the giveaway chess tournament for the youth section from 18:30 onwards. We started quite late with the match, at around 20:30, I believe. Those precious moments of repose had definitely helped me regain some energy. I was placed at board 4, next to Alexander Polak on board 3. He and I have some sort of rivalry going on, where I gladly keep biting the dust in a certain Sicilian variant. It would be a very gezellige evening indeed. Below you can see how quickly I managed to catch black’s king out of a prepared opening sideline.
